Edward Green entered the jewellery trade fifty years ago, quickly establishing himself as one of its rising stars. Within a short time, he was managing Harrods’ luxury jewellery department. Headhunted to join Mappin & Webb before his 30th birthday, he was promoted to run its sister company, Garrard the Crown Jeweller, and soon brought the two companies together as Managing Director while retaining their individual entities and client-bases.

During this time, he oversaw the royal collection and the purchase of the engagement rings now worn by HRH Catherine, Princess of Wales, and Sarah, Duchess of York  as well as maintaining close links with HM Queen Elizabeth II, the Prince of Wales now HM King Charles III, HRH Diana, Princess of Wales and other members of the British royal family as well as foreign royal Families.

Following the sale of the Mappin & Webb group, Edward joined the board of Asprey Plc and subsequently moved to New York as President of Asprey USA to recreate his successes in the UK by expanding Asprey’s American business. During this period, he pioneered the sale of Western luxury goods in Asian markets by opening Garrard and Mappin & Webb stores in Japan and Hong Kong.

Having achieved his objectives, Edward returned to the United Kingdom, settling in Scotland and beginning private jewellery and luxury dealings with his network of high net-worth private clients across the globe.  He also soon made his mark on Scottish life by being appointed to the board of the National Galleries of Scotland and subsequently as Deputy Lord Lieutenant of the City of Edinburgh.

Today, Edward is called upon as an insider to the jewellery trade as well as his clients’ “best kept secret”. He has expanded his operations to include brand and luxury good consultancy, estate valuation and liquidation. He is also a sought-after speaker with his illustrious career and vast knowledge of subjects including the history of jewellery and auction houses and the Royal family.
